Idleai shows one ad line beside an AI assistant’s thinking indicator and splits the revenue with the developer whose screen showed it. This policy covers the idleai clients — the browser extension, CLI, editor extensions, and companions — and the idleai service they talk to.

What we collect

  • Your device token. A per-device credential (idl_…) that authenticates the client to the idleai API. It is created when you connect a client and is tied to your idleai account. Nothing else identifies you to a client.
  • Verified views and clicks. When an ad is shown for five continuous seconds on a visible surface, or you click it, the client records that event so you can be paid for it. We store the campaign, the event type, and the time — not the page you were on or its contents.
  • Account and earnings data you provide to idleai directly (email, country, and — only if you cash out — the payout details you enter on our verification flow).

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not read, store, or transmit the content of the pages the extension runs on. The ad renders in the extension’s own shadow-DOM element and never touches the surrounding page.
  • We do not track your browsing, build an ad profile, or sync your history. The extension only checks whether the assistant is currently “thinking” so it knows when to show the line.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties.

Where the token lives

In the browser extension, the device token is held only in the service worker and in chrome.storage — it never enters the context of any web page you visit. Other clients keep it in a local config file on your own machine (~/.idleai.json). The token is transmitted only to the idleai server you configure, over HTTPS, as a bearer credential.

How the data is used

Solely to run the product: authenticate your client, decide which ad to show, count the views and clicks you earn from, and pay you. We do not use it to determine creditworthiness, for lending, or for any purpose unrelated to idleai.

Your controls

  • Pause serving at any time from the extension popup, or revoke a device token from your idleai dashboard.
  • Uninstalling the extension removes its stored token from your browser.
  • Contact us to delete your idleai account and associated data.
